Day 1 – Port Ghalib to Luxor | Journey to the Ancient Capital of Egypt
Your 3-day Luxor and Cairo tour from Port Ghalib begins in the early morning when our representative picks you up from your hotel in Port Ghalib. Travel comfortably in a private air-conditioned vehicle as you leave the Red Sea coast and head toward Luxor, the legendary city of ancient Thebes and one of the most important historical destinations in Egypt.
The drive from Port Ghalib to Luxor takes you through the fascinating landscapes of Egypt’s Eastern Desert, where mountains, valleys, and wide desert views create a unique travel experience. As you approach the Nile Valley, the scenery changes dramatically, revealing green farmland, traditional villages, and the peaceful beauty of Upper Egypt.
Upon arrival in Luxor, meet your private Egyptologist tour guide, who will accompany you throughout your journey and provide detailed explanations about the lives of pharaohs, ancient Egyptian mythology, temple architecture, and the secrets behind Egypt’s greatest monuments.
Your first stop will be the extraordinary Karnak Temple Complex, one of the largest religious sites ever constructed and a true masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture. Built over many generations by powerful pharaohs, Karnak was the main worship center for the god Amun-Ra and played a major role in ancient Egyptian religious life.
Enter the impressive Great Hypostyle Hall, where huge stone columns decorated with thousands of years old hieroglyphics create one of the most unforgettable sights in Luxor. Explore the massive temple gates, ancient obelisks, sacred lake, statues of kings, and hidden corners of this enormous complex while your guide reveals the fascinating stories behind its construction.
After exploring Karnak Temple, enjoy lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant and take a relaxing break before continuing your Luxor East Bank sightseeing tour.
In the afternoon, visit the beautiful Luxor Temple, a stunning monument located on the eastern bank of the Nile River. Unlike many temples built only for worship, Luxor Temple was connected with royal ceremonies and the celebration of kingship. Walk among the giant statues of Ramses II, admire the beautifully preserved columns, and discover the history of the famous Avenue of Sphinxes, the ancient ceremonial road that linked Luxor Temple with Karnak.
After completing your first day of sightseeing, transfer to your hotel in Luxor for check-in and relaxation. You may choose an optional evening experience such as the Karnak Sound and Light Show or a peaceful Nile felucca ride at sunset, enjoying the magical atmosphere of Luxor by the river.

Day 2 – Luxor West Bank Tour | Discover the Secrets of the Pharaohs
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, begin your second day exploring the western side of Luxor, the area known as the ancient city of the dead. The west bank of Luxor is home to some of Egypt’s most valuable archaeological treasures, including royal tombs, ancient temples, and monuments dedicated to powerful pharaohs.
Your first visit will be the legendary Valley of the Kings, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. Hidden among the mountains of Thebes, this incredible valley served as the royal burial place for the kings of the New Kingdom period. More than 60 tombs have been discovered here, including the famous tomb of King Tutankhamun.
Enter several beautifully decorated tombs and admire the amazing colors that have survived for thousands of years. Your Egyptologist guide will explain the meaning behind the ancient paintings, religious texts, and symbols that decorated the walls, showing the ancient Egyptians’ beliefs about the afterlife and their journey to eternity.
You will have the opportunity to visit the famous Tutankhamun Tomb (optional ticket), where the young pharaoh was discovered with thousands of incredible treasures that are now displayed in museums around the world.
Continue your Luxor west bank tour to the spectacular Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, an architectural masterpiece built directly into the cliffs of the Theban Mountains. Queen Hatshepsut was one of Egypt’s most successful female rulers, and her temple tells the story of her achievements, trade expeditions, and connection with the gods.
The temple’s unique design, large terraces, impressive columns, and beautiful location make it one of the most photographed places in Luxor. Your guide will share fascinating stories about Queen Hatshepsut’s reign and explain why her temple remains one of the greatest achievements of ancient Egyptian architecture.
Before leaving the west bank, stop at the famous Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic stone statues representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These enormous statues have stood facing the Nile for more than 3,000 years and were once part of a much larger temple complex.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then spend your afternoon at leisure. You can choose optional experiences such as a breathtaking hot air balloon ride over Luxor at sunrise, a relaxing boat trip to Banana Island, or a visit to Luxor Museum, which displays a wonderful collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
